Small Moments. Consistent Actions. Meaningful Connections.

Take a Moment to Observe...

When people ask me how I grow relationships in my business, I don’t think of one big moment. I share that it is all about the little moments that happen over time. A conversation over coffee. A thoughtful introduction. Remembering someone’s birthday. Sending a quick text just to check in. Sharing a photo. A funny story or meme. Sharing an article because it reminded you of them and something they care about.

None of those moments seems extraordinary on its own. Yet together, they create something incredibly valuable. They show people they are top of mind and that you understand them well enough to think of them. Don't we all want that?

What about remembering someone’s name? The best way to remember a name is to have a real experience with the person. Have a meaningful conversation. Share something a little vulnerable (not a deep TMI moment that pushes them away; there is a difference.) Listen closely. Find the places where your experiences align and where you relate to each other.

Walking around a networking event collecting business cards and electronic contacts is NOT an experience. Handing your card to everyone may make you memorable, but maybe not in the way you want to be remembered. Build Trust.

I’ve never experienced trust being built all at once. It grows one conversation at a time, one shared experience at a time, and one promise kept at a time. Every time we follow through, remember something important, or simply show up when we say we will, we strengthen a relationship that naturally deepens over time.

Ask yourself whether you are holding yourself to your word. If you aren’t doing for yourself what you say you want to do, you may struggle to build authentic trust with others. It all starts with the relationship we have with ourselves.

I’ve also learned that consistency isn’t about doing more. It’s about paying attention to the people you’ve already chosen to invest in. A handful of meaningful relationships, nurtured with intention over time, can create far more opportunity than trying to stay connected with everyone.

Thinking you have to keep meeting more people to succeed may actually work against you.

Bigger isn’t always better. More isn’t always required. Don’t hear me wrong, I love socializing and making friends. I also know that if my business needs to generate revenue, I need to focus my time. I can’t spread myself across more and more friendships while neglecting the referral partner relationships that have the potential to grow deeper. Quality over Quantity!

Looking back, the people who have had the greatest impact on my business aren’t the ones I met once. They’re the people I’ve stayed connected with over months, years, and even decades. We’ve continued the conversation. Celebrated each other’s successes. Supported one another through challenges. Remained curious about where life was taking us.

We talk about where we are in life and business, not the weather and definitely not politics. Real life gives us situations and experiences to work through. We meet each other where we are and support the path toward where we’re going. This is not a social relationship; it is an intentional deeper connection to someone. You bring massive value to each other.

I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give another person is our attention. When we consistently show up with genuine curiosity and care, relationships deepen. Over time, those relationships become the people we trust, collaborate with, learn from, and genuinely enjoy having in our lives.

Take a Moment to Observe...

Which relationships have grown stronger because of small, consistent moments over time?

How do you naturally stay connected with the people who matter most to you?

Who comes to mind when you think about someone you haven’t connected with in a while?

What simple gesture has made you feel remembered or appreciated?

Which relationship feels ready for one more conversation?

And what about the relationship you have with yourself?

Are you listening to what your body, heart, and inner knowing have been trying to tell you? Are you nurturing that relationship with the same attention and care you freely give to others?

Welcome Home, Angela

P.S. I encourage you to take a moment and reflect on a current relationship you can nurture today! Might it be the relationship with yourself?
